In this project, I have focused on hate crimes in India (specifically religiously- motivated lynching) concerning an alleged consumption or transportation of beef. The act is usually shot by one of the attackers and uploaded on social media as a matter of pride.

I chose to explore the medium of interactive video to put together my primary questions and insights from this project.
The methodology used involved media and film-related practices such as crafting a simple storyline, writing a script, story-boarding, shot breakdowns, and so on. As the events of the interactive video unfold, the ‘player’ puts their bias (toward or against vigilante justice) to the test. As they make instrumental choices throughout the video, they are presented with an ending that debunks the basis of their bias and thus disproves the existence of a single ‘original’ intention of capturing or sharing a video.

The final storyline created, branched out to six possible endings.
